On the west coast of Denmark an impressive new museum has risen from the dunes. For various exhibition rooms Tinker Imagineers designed spectacular formations of bunkers, dunes, trees and amber stones. Kloosterboer was responsible for the full realization of the new permanent exhibition. Including the technique for projections, light and sound.

The largest maps in the entire world can be found in the floor of the Citizens’ Hall, in the heart of the Royal Palace Amsterdam. The three maps of the world and the night sky each measure an astonishing 624 centimetres in diameter. They are an essential part of the design conceived by the architect Jacob van Campen for this building: his entire concept was based on creating the impressive town hall as a miniature universe.

Afgelopen vrijdag opende Minister van Defensie Ank Bijleveld in het Nationaal Militair Museum (NMM) in Soest de historische expositie ‘Als de Russen komen’, een expositie over Nederland en de Koude Oorlog. Door middel van een audiovisuele reis langs objecten uit binnen- en buitenland wordt de dreiging van de Koude Oorlog opgeroepen. Een gedetailleerde Poolse stafkaart uit 1970 , waarop de inval van West-Europa werd uitgetekend, toont aan dat het menens was.

De nieuwe tentoonstelling in het Scheepvaartmuseum Cartografie & Curiosa laat zien hoe vanuit Amsterdam de wijdere wereld werd ontdekt, én hoe de wereld vanaf de Gouden Eeuw naar Amsterdam kwam. De presentatie bevat kaarten van Amsterdamse kaartenmakers uit de topcollectie cartografie van Het Scheepvaartmuseum. Deze tentoonstelling laat zien hoe onze Amsterdamse voorouders in de Nederlandse Gouden Eeuw hun weg vonden op zee en hoe hun reizen het wereldbeeld bepaalden. De bezoeker gaat aan de hand van de eeuwenoude kaarten zelf op reis naar de locaties die de Nederlandse geschiedenis vormden: Zuid-Afrika, Indonesië, Japan, Australië en Brazilië.
