Bureau Buitenschot is a relentless and thought-provoking satire that shines a spotlight on a deeply rooted issue in our society: the dominance of external consultancy firms.

A proliferation of organizational, advisory, and strategy consultancies has paralyzed governance in the Netherlands and eroded democracy. Consultants deliver hefty reports to desks in The Hague, leaving victims empty-handed. After all, why use taxpayer money to address a scandal devastating the population when you can pay KPMG and McKinsey to state the obvious?

Meanwhile, an ever-growing group of citizens feels increasingly powerless and unseen due to these practices. They cannot find housing, are labeled as fraudsters, and have little to no future prospects.
