Into D'mentia

Into D'mentia has developed a dementia simulator in which healthy people can experience what it feels like to live with dementia. In this specially developed simulator, healthy people experience confusion, uncertainty, disorientation and other feelings that people with dementia have every day. Experiencing dementia yourself creates more understanding of the disease, a better relationship and less burden of care.

Audiovisual resources, an interactive story and a smart design give informal caregivers, students and family members a clear picture of the patients' experience. Into D'mentia is unique; Nowhere in the world does training take place in this effective way.

The simulation takes place in a mobile cabin. A kitchen-diner has been built in the cabin where the student can experience a day in the life of someone with dementia.

In addition to the traveling simulator from 2013, Kloosterboer manufactured a second copy of the Into D'mentia simulator in 2019 for SOSU Østjylland in Denmark.
