Mozart's Magic Flute – The next generation

After the success of Amadeus (2019), director Theu Boermans is back with a new, large-scale music theater performance: Mozart's Magic Flute – The next generation.

A radical adaptation of Mozart's most famous opera, played and sung in Dutch by a mix of top actors and opera singers. The performance is set in a dystopian near future in which a group of ultra-right conservative men are in power. There is no room for women, young people and minorities.

Even the queen of the night, an old feminist, is left out. Together with her princess daughter Pamina and Prince Tamino, she takes on the incumbent regime, which is assisted by supervisor Papageno. The young generation is trying to dethrone those in power to make room for a new world in which everyone is equal. Will love win?
